La Palma Citizen's Academy

LaPalma_StreetMedianViewThe La Palma Citizen’s Academy is a FREE program introducing residents to the inner workings of their City.

Each workshop focuses on specific aspects of local government functions, including administration, finance, public safety, community development, community services, and public works. City Staff conducts workshops, providing insight into department operations and addressing questions.

Additionally, the Citizen’s Academy acquaints participants with volunteer opportunities, including City committee or even City Council roles. 

The 2024 Academy is now accepting applications. Applications must be submitted by Monday, March 4, 2024, by 6:30 PM for consideration. Applications may be submitted in-person during regular business hours (M-Th, 7:30 AM - 6:30 PM) at La Palma City Hall or mail to: Citizen's Academy 2024| ATTN: Joe Cisneros | 7822 Walker Street La Palma, CA 90623

  • April 2 (Begins at 6:30 PM) – City Council Awards Presentation/Graduation
