The La Palma Mosaic is the City’s official community newsletter and recreation guide. It is published four times a year and mailed directly to each household and business in the City of La Palma. Issues can also be viewed online and additional hard copies are available to pick up at the La Palma Civic Center and Community Center.

La Palma offers a wide variety of classes for all ages to learn new skills, improve physical and mental wellness, or meet new friends and have a good time.

Registration Information

Method of Payment

We accept cash, check (made payable to the City of La Palma), money orders, and credit cards. If cash is your preferred payment choice, you may pay for your registration when the La Palma Community Services Administrative Office is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.  All other payment options may be used during our Central Park extended hours Monday - Thursday until 10:00 p.m. and on weekends from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Non-residents will pay an additional $7 fee per class.

All recreation programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

We encourage advance registration for all our programs. No registration can be taken at classes, since most instructors need to know their enrollment at least two or three days prior to their starting date.


Requests for refunds will be honored by Recreation and Community Services only if they are made prior to the start of the second class meeting for session classes or prior to the start of the first class for single-day activities. An $11 processing charge, per transaction receipt, will be deducted from ALL requested refunds. A full refund will be made only when a class or program is filled or cancelled by Community Services. All accounts with credit balances as of June 30 annually will be returned in the form of check to your address on file.

How can I register?


Register online and get instant confirmation of you classes at ACTIVE. All first time registration customers need to request a family account and pin number prior to registration. MasterCard, VISA, Discover, and American Express are accepted payments for online registration. Online processing fees may apply. 


Complete a registration form, include payment (check, VISA, MasterCard), and a self-addressed, stamped envelope and mail to:

Bring your completed registration form and payment to our offices at Central Park (7821 Walker Street, La Palma). Cash accepted only during normal business hours (7:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday), checks, and VISA or MasterCard are accepted forms of payment.
