Teens Night Out | Triviamania!

The City of La Palma Community Services Department collaborates with the City of Cypress Recreation Department to offer a variety of special events, activities, and other opportunities for teens throughout the year. INSPOTEEN

Geared towards 7th and 8th graders, InspoTeen is a FREE drop-in outreach program, offered during the school year, developed by the City of La Palma Community Services staff to address youth violence and youth homelessness through mentoring and support as well as providing a safe, caring and fun space for teens to go after school.

Location: Walker Junior High

Tues/Wed/Thurs

2:30-4:00 p.m.

VOLUNTEENS

Volunteens is a Recreation summer work program for ages 13-17.  The Volunteen mission is to provide a safe summer day camp to campers of different age groups, interests, and backgrounds. The program was created to cultivate leadership, encourage career or volunteer exploration, develop new and lasting friendships, work in groups, and work on attainable goals. At the end of the summer, Volunteens become more resilient, confident, and may desire to return to the program, become Senior Recreation Leaders, and/or use this experience toward any future endeavor. Applications for summer 2024 available February 2024.



YOUTH ACTION COMMITTEE (YAC)

The Youth Action Committee (YAC) works in conjunction with the City of Cypress, La Palma, and outside groups for the benefit of each community. We are looking for creative high school students who want to represent their peers and promote youth-oriented programs and activities as part of the Youth Action Committee.  Applications are now closed for the 2023-2024 year.  Applications for 2024-2025 available May 2024.
