Labor Agreements
The City of La Palma employs more than 60 full-time employees who are represented by three recognized employee organizations: the La Palma General Employees Association (LPGEA), the La Palma Police Association (LPPA), and the La Palma Professional Employees Association (LPPEA). Additionally, there are approximately 8 management employees, the City Manager, and part-time employees which are not represented by a formal organization.

La Palma General Employees Association (LPGEA)
This Association represents approximately 20 employees in a variety of classifications, including: Administrative Secretaries, Maintenance Workers, Recreation Coordinators, Senior Office Assistants, and Water Workers.
La Palma Police Association (LPPA)
This Association represents approximately 28 sworn and civilian employees in a variety of police classifications, including: Police Dispatcher, Police Officer, Police Corporal, Police Records Clerk, Police Sergeant, and Civilian Investigator.
La Palma Professional Employees Association (LPPEA)
This Association represents approximately 8 employees in a variety of professional or supervisory classifications, including: Accountant, Associate Planner, Community Services Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Management Analyst, and Water Supervisor.
Management Employees
The City’s 8 management employees are not represented by a formal association or MOU; however, a comprehensive agreement is prepared that list salaries, personnel practices, and benefits for management employees.
City Manager
The City Manager has an individual Employment Agreement with the City of La Palma and is an "at-will" employee.
Part-time Employee Salary Resolutions
The City’s part-time employees are not represented by a recognized labor organization or association; however, a Salary Resolution is frequently prepared that list salaries, personnel practices, and benefits for these part-time employees.
